The MOST IMPORTANT things for FAT LOSS

Fat loss is a huge goal for so many people. But there is so much information out there about nutrition for fat loss that people are often overwhelmed or confused about how to achieve it.

Let’s break it down and make it simple. People often argue about what the most important element of fat loss is. Is it cutting carbs? Is it low fat? Is it a lemon water cleanse/detox (oh god, no it’s not a cleanse or detox).

So take a look at the pyramid of prioritisation below. The most important factor of fat loss is at the bottom, the least is at the top. Focus on the most important (the base of the pyramid) and worry less about the rest because it makes less of a difference the further up you get. The message is simple: Total Calories is most important. Where those calories come from is next (how much from protein, carbs and fats) and you’ll see that things like supplements and what time of the day you eat your food really don’t matter much at all.

Bottom line- if you burn more calories than you take in you are going to lose weight. The quality of those calories and your exercise will determine how much of that weight is fat but that is fat loss in its most basic, easiest to follow terms: Create a Caloric deficit.

“How many calories should that be?” I hear you ask. Click here to find out.
